During the nationwide fundraising TV show Danmarks Indsamling 2012 on February 3, a number of films aired featuring African children on the run. More than DKK 87 million was raised for children on the run in 10 different African countries.

All post-production on 24 films, previews and teasers created for the show was done by Duckling. The appeal spots were filmed in Africa by Uitch Iscratch and proved extremely effective in showing Danish television viewers what a big difference their donations make. They successfully convinced people from every corner of Denmark to support this worthy cause.

Spearheading the campaign, CEO of Kommunikationsbureauet København Sune Bang was thrilled to work with Duckling on producing the films. “When you produce so many appeals and previews, it takes a staff of highly professional people who really know their stuff and understand the essence of the project from start to finish,” Sune Bang said in an interview with Markedsføring.

Duckling is no stranger to the fundraising community, playing a similar role in the post-production of 25 films for the “Afrika Now!” fundraiser that brought in DKK 111 million to fight hunger in Africa last year.

“Appeal films are an effective tool from communications perspective, and we are very much aware of that. As professional communicators I think we have an obligation to apply these tools in this kind of context,” Sune Bang added.
